2019-2020 STUDENT COUNCIL
CHS’s Student Council is excited for this school year and has some great things planned for the student body. StuCo’s goal is to provide experiences and memories that will unite all of C-Town to show off that awesome school spirit. Be on the watch for information about future pep assemblies, lunchtime activities, sprit weeks, and dances.
According to Austin Morrow, CHS’s Student Body President, “This year’s council is nothing short of amazing, and we’re all excited for the progression of the year. We can’t wait to plan exciting events that allow for all of our student body to become more involved within our CHS family. We’re all excited for this school year, and are looking to make it one for the record books.”
TEACHER LEADER
Chandler High Spanish teacher Sara Wyffels has been working with the Arizona K12 Center at Northern Arizona University as a member of the “Teacher Solutions Team.” She has been a part of facilitating the Teacher Leadership Institute, and this summer, they featured her as one of their 6 Teacher Spotlights for her work on “Excellence and Equity for All.”
NATIONAL LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
Holly Hoogstra, CHS Senior, was one of 32 students from around the country chosen to participate in the Economics for Leaders program conducted at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX in July. Holly was chosen for the program because of her excellent leadership potential.
During the week long program, Holly attained an understanding of economic reasoning principles and how to employ those concepts for successful and effective leadership. Additionally, she achieved a heightened awareness of the impact their decisions have on others and the responsibility that awareness imposes. Holly described her experience as “an absolutely phenomenal program where I was able to learn such a relevant topic while learning with other students from all over the nation."
CLUB FAIR
CHS hosted the 2019-2020 Club Fair last week during both lunches and many students took advantage of the opportunities CHS has to offer. Check out the list of clubs on the CHS Activities/Clubs web page (some info being updated for 2019-2020). All Wolves are encouraged to get involved in at least one extracurricular club or sport.

AFTER-HOURS SUPERVISION
Student performances and athletic events are right around the corner, and if our students aren’t participating in them, we encourage them to come out and show their support. Please be advised that adult supervision after extra-curricular activities, including dances, performances and athletic events, will only be provided up to 30 minutes after the event has ended.

It's time for our Chandler Education Foundation Cash For Classrooms fundraiser! We need your support to fund enrichment grants for our teachers here at CHS. Our goal is to raise at least $3,000. Your generosity can help bring guest speakers to classrooms, provide materials for experiments, fund field trips, and much more. We appreciate your willingness to donate in order to provide more opportunities for students! Send in cash or check donations with your child or try the new Text to Give feature by texting the letters CEF to 480-712-4081.

Help support CHS’s Positive Referral program by helping us win $400 to $3,000! All you have to do is shop, dine or watch a movie at Chandler Fashion Center from Aug. 1-Feb. 29, and Chandler High will earn money toward recognizing students who exhibit great character. Last year we were able to give away three chrome books to students who received positive referrals and had their names drawn at the end of each semester.
Log receipts online 24/7 at shopandlog.com/chandler, or if you do not need your receipts returned, drop them in the collection box located on the Upper Level bridge near Barnes & Noble.
