Home Stretch & Time To Celebrate
Really proud of our top guys and how hard they worked this week and all season long to do the best they could in districts! Team districts didn't go the way we wanted, but they dusted themselves off and took the lessons they learned into the individual tournament. Pratham came so close to beating the 1 from FZN and showed how much potential his has next season! Etienne and Lukas had some good points and some tough points, but never gave up in doubles. As a freshman, Lukas brings a lot of promise to the future of the program, but we know we won't be the same next year without our 'bruh' Etienne. Our Dukes of Schultz had a great 2nd Round vs FZW and then a bit of a slow start against a very talented Liberty 1D team. They battled through and almost pulled off a comeback 2nd set, but despite falling short they finished on a high note! We are lucky to be able to keep one of the brothers (Jaden), but we will certainly miss Noah's rational presence and leadership! That leaves Jackson standing ready to take the court for districts on Monday and give it all he's got on Tuesday at sectionals. I have never seem him so calm and patient playing these past couple days and I know he has what it takes to go far. Let's all get out to Liberty on Monday and Tuesday to support him!
Since the season has come to end for most of the boys, now is the time to figure out how to continue to improve in the off season. Below are several ways to do so! Starting with our Howell Tennis Camp the first week of June! Be sure to sign up ASAP! If you can't, please notify me. Graduating seniors, please let me know if you can help with any day of camp, both or only HS or Beginners. Returning players, I will need volunteers to help with the beginners everyday so please let me know if you can stay any of the days to help. Other great options are Gladiator Tennis, which is super flexible and you can play a lot of guys you'll see next season, as well as USTA Team Tournaments. I will also have open courts a couple days a week where we will work on conditioning, footwork, and match play. A calendar will be out soon for that! And finally, you have the clinics and privates offered at all the local tennis clubs. Please be doing something!!!
I can't wait for the End of Season Celebration set for Sunday May 26th from 11:30am-1:30pm. The presentation, food, and video will be from 11:30-12:30 so please don't be late! the demolition ball court will be from 1230-2pm. Each guy will get several tokens and as well as siblings and family members if they are coming. I still need Pratham, Sudeep, Noah Harper, Ben Littlejohn, Trace Watkins, and Reese Mertens to Click Here to RSVP the number individuals attending to get an accurate head count.
