Raureka School Change to Red Level
Newsletter 23 January 2022
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE Number 2
Kia ora koutou katoa, Talofa lava, Kia orana,
Further to yesterdays message, I attended a meeting with the MoE and DHB representatives today.
Things are changing daily and the information shared today may be changed slightly after Cabinet meets on Wednesday. (I will let you know other changes as they come)
School will be open for all children next week.
All children Year 4 and above will need to wear a mask (This is Rooms 1,2,3,4,5, 11 and 19)- parents please send your child to school with one.
Parents who come on site will need to wear a mask and log in using the Covid Tracer App.
While the Ministry of Health wants all 5-11 year olds vaccinated no children will be excluded from school if they aren't.
Please note: It is, definitely, your choice as parents whether or not your children are vaccinated. Only you as parents can give permission for this to happen.
If your child is sick they need to stay home.
Home learning will be provided for children who need to isolate or are close contacts and have been directed by the MoH to stay home.
Please note that as from November last year it was mandatory for all school staff to be fully vaccinated, all of our staff are vaccinated and want to keep your children safe.
Stationery for 2022: We will be selling stationery from outside the school office.
We have got the best prices available and they will match the back to school prices sold by other retailers.
The books we sell will be the ones that teachers have requested to meet the needs of their learning programmes. The books etc will come in a pack.
The office will be open for sales on Monday 31st January and Tuesday 1st February from 9:00 am until 2:30 so you can come and buy them.
New enrolments and uniform purchases will also be taken on those days.
Children start school on Wednesday 2nd February 2022.
We will be having a Teacher Only Day on Friday 1 April- so no school that day.
