Summer Learning
Please see"Students who just finished 2nd-5th grade" on the left side of this document. Over the summer, please encourage students to learn each day. Learning could include reading, playing math games, or participating in scientific/historical virtual field trips. Please see these two resources on the importance of establishing a daily/weekly summer schedule for children and how to create one!
Next School Year
We know the question on everyone's mind is "What will school look like in the fall?" The difficulty of this situation is that many uncertainties remain regarding Covid-19 and its progression throughout the summer months. Having said that, we are receiving ongoing guidance from the State Board of Education, working with other school districts, researching other countries and places that have already resumed classes, and discussing possible scenarios for the fall. Please know that your child's safety is and will remain our main focus.
So as of this moment, we do not have official guidance as to what learning will look like when classes resume in the fall. However, we will share all detailed information with our students and families as soon as it is available.
In the meantime, we want to say thank you. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate these uncharted waters, and we thank you for all of the support you have given our staff and students during our remote learning journey. We will stay Oak Ridge strong and only get closer because of our commitment to one another.

Flat Mustang Summer Adventures
Typically, students from Oak Ridge travel all over the world during summer break. We know this year is different, but we are still encouraging you to bring Flat Mustang with you wherever you go this summer - to the park, the backyard, or just a fun room in your house.
Flat Mustang loves going on adventures big or small!
No matter your plans, snap a few photos of your Flat Mustang with your Oak Ridge student at various places! See the template here. Flat Mustang loves playing outside, taking trips to the store, or getting ice cream. After you have taken pictures with your Flat Mustang and Oak Ridge student, email your photos to ORFlatMustang@gmail.com. In your email, please include the location of the photograph.
You can follow @ORFlatMustang on Twitter to see Flat Mustang’s adventures. We will also print the pictures to display all of our students’ adventures!
