Note from the Admin Team!
Greetings Wildcat Families,
We hope you had a wonderful and relaxing break. It has been a great week getting back into the swing of things. With only a few more weeks in second quarter, it is important to finish strong. As we met as a staff on Monday, we discussed a few key components of our learning expectations that we are going to commit to as a building regarding daily lessons. We are hoping that consistency in those areas with help our students. We are also using common language when it comes to our student expectations. We are asking that all students are “On task, on time and on camera.” We feel these are key components to boosting engagement within the classroom. If there are individual concerns, please either contact our office or your student’s teacher as we can try to work out a plan to help accommodate.
On January 26, 2021, we will begin our transition back to hybrid learning. For families who chose the in-person learning model prior to December 1, 2020, please begin planning for the transition back to the building. We will continue to communicate more of the details of what hybrid learning will look like as we get closer to January 26th. We are continuing the tedious process of scheduling all of our student schedules based on the family selections made first semester. This process is incredibly intricate and we will communicate second semester schedules as soon as possible. Please know we are working as hard and fast as possible to get this completed soon, but also done well for each of our students.
We are so thankful for our PTA! Our staff absolutely loved the coffee and cinnamon rolls the last full day of classes in December. Thank you to all the families who continually support us! If you haven't joined yet, please consider doing so.
Go Wildcats!

MIDDLE SCHOOL ATHLETIC CLINICS
Middle School Athletics will begin February 1. To help keep our students safe during this time, middle school sports will not be competitive, but instead, will run clinics focused on skill building, rules and game strategy. There will be safety protocols in place in accordance with the Shawnee Mission Athletic Department, the Johnson County Health Department, and the Kansas State High School Activities Association to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. To see these protocols and guidelines, click HERE. An important part of these protocols involves maintaining cohorts, which means students will only participate in clinics on the days they attend school in-person.
If a child is a part of the remote-learning model, the days they will attend the clinics will be based on their last name.
Mondays & Tuesdays: Group A - Last name begins with letters A-Lamb
Wednesdays & Thursdays: Group B - Last name begins with letters Lamc - Z
Clinics will be held directly following the school day, running from 4:00 pm until 5:30 pm. Transportation to and from clinics will not be provided.
***Any student who would like to participate in the clinics will need to have a current physical on file, along with the Concussion & Head Injury Release signed. These can be found HERE (Spanish).***
