Reading
After reading a story about George Washington and General Howe, the students filled out a graphic organizer together about Somebody, Wanted, But, So. A great way for students to get the main idea of a text.
Writing
Writing about which one of the stuffed animal dogs is the best is a great way to start off opinion writing! If your child starts begging for things, it is because we are learning how to persuade readers to see things our way!
Buddies
Our 5th grade buddies helped us make a word search with our phonic pattern word list.
Math
We are practicing adding and subtracting numbers from 10 like 26 + 10 and 32-10. What better way to practice than with a game!
George Washington
Did you know that George had 36 dogs in his lifetime? Did you know that his enemy General Howe, had his dog end up on George Washington's side during the American Revolution and that George had a cease-fire so that he could return the dog to him? George Washington would have been my facebook friend!!!! The children loved learning about this great president!
Reading
Mrs. Gamez is teaching us how to mark important parts in a text so that we can compare two people in history.
Doggy Bag
