- Kindergarten & First Grade parents 6:00-6:30 p.m.
- Second & Third Grade parents 6:30-7:00 p.m.
- Fourth Grade parents 7:00-7:30 p.m.
This will be a time to connect with your child’s teachers and learn about curriculum, expectations, and the structure of the school day. Your child will bring home a detailed note about Curriculum Night on the first day of school, so be sure to check his/her backpack carefully!
Transportation and Car Tags
*A new 22-23 car tag must be issued. Last year's numbers are not permitted!
**Please note all car tags must be present and visible during dismissal for a child to be dismissed to your vehicle.**
A Message from Transportation:
East Hill will be conducting Emergency Bus Evacuation Drills on Thursday, September 15 upon morning arrival.
Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
Arrival Procedures
Arrival begins at 9:00 a.m with buses unloading students. Parents may enter the parking loop to drop off their children between 9:05 a.m. and 9:10 a.m. after all buses have unloaded.
Parents must stay in their car at all times. Please exit students from the passenger side of the vehicle.
Walkers may arrive at the school at 9:00 a.m. Please do not arrive early or let your child arrive early as there is no supervision until 9:00 a.m. when the doors will be opened. Students that are having breakfast will enter the building at 8:50 a.m.
Dismissal Procedures
Bus dismissal will begin at 3:15 p.m. Parents can enter the loop after all buses have left (roughly 3:20 p.m.). Parent pickup tags, similar to the ones pictured below, will be provided for all families that indicated the need for afternoon transportation. Each family will get two car tags with the same number. Students will be provided with a backpack tag with the corresponding number. School staff will be able to easily identify the correct car in the pickup line outside of school. If a parent is designating someone else to pick up a child on a particular day, it will be up to the parent to make sure they provide that person with the pickup tag. Again, parents must stay in their car at all times unless, of course, it is necessary for you to help a child get out of their carseat. Please load your child into your vehicle on the passenger side.
We truly appreciate your support with following our arrival and dismissal procedures to keep all students safe. Please do not hesitate to contact the main office at 315-487-4648 with any questions.
Breakfast and Lunch
Families who qualify for free or reduced-price meals must complete the necessary application and meet income qualifications to receive free meals. Households who do not qualify must resume paying for breakfast and lunch. Be sure to visit our website at westgensee.org and click the Food Services link for more information.
Nutrislice & MySchoolBucks
Become familiarized with both venues. The Nutrislice link (which is found on the WGCSD homepage) will allow you to view the daily breakfast and lunch menus in advance. MySchoolBucks allows families a debit "account" that allows the student to purchase lunch and a la carte items from the cafeteria. Money will be deducted accordingly from their account. This is not mandatory but yet another opportunity outside of prepaying by credit/debit card, check and/or paying in cash at the time of purchase.
