Traffic Update

As many of you have seen and heard via mailings, newspaper articles, tv news reports, etc., there are a number of road projects that are occurring and will continue to occur that impacts Waterford Elementary School. The administrative team at Waterford, along with the Goshen Schools administrators, has been in contact with city officials and are looking at ways to address the heavy traffic and stopped traffic as a result of the projects. We will be receiving more information in the coming weeks regarding this and will make sure that we communicate anything with you that would affect Waterford students. In the meantime, please make sure that you leave a bit earlier than normal to make sure your students arrive on time in the morning and are picked up in time after school. We appreciate your help and support with this.

This week we have started our first phase if ISTEP testing. IREAD starts on March 14-18 and the second phase for ISTEP will be April 18- May 6th. Consider the following guidelines:

  • Dress your student in comfortable/loose fitting clothing.

  • Limit the number of sodas they drink.

  • Encourage your student to play outside after school, if weather permits, for at least 30 minutes. (The physical exercise helps relieve stress.)

  • Reschedule any appointments for that week.

  • Make sure they get a good nights sleep.

  • Make sure they get a healthy breakfast every morning.
  • Provide positive encouragement. Avoid stress.

We need your support, Can you spare four hours?

Box Tops

We ask that you work hard so we can finish this year strong collecting Box Tops! This fall alone we collected $545. All you have to do is buy products that have Box Tops, cut out the tab and send them with your student.
