VIRTUAL SESSION: Collaborating, Communicating, and Managing Content in Schoology

This course focuses on using Groups and Resources as tools to address crucial collaboration and communication goals. Participants will take a closer look at the features available for organization and sharing, and develop strategies for both personal and collaborative use. Those enrolled in this course will also learn best practices for resource sharing, and discuss different ways that Groups and Resources can be used within their organization.

VIRTUAL SESSION: How to use Microsoft Forms

Create self-grading quizzes easily using Microsoft Forms. With built-in features like the ability to enter equations for a Math quiz, insert videos or images, branching and section options, and multiple question types, Microsoft Forms can be your go-to tool for data collection and assessment.



This session will be presented by Mary Villaume. Mary is a Microsoft Learning Consultant who spent fourteen years teaching middle and high school English and Latin. Before teaching, she was a network administrator, which inspired her to use technology in the classroom.

VIRTUAL SESSION: Sway: Your Way to a Better Presentation

Create and share interactive reports, presentations, personal stories, and more using Microsoft Sway. In this session, you will learn how to import and create a presentation using Sway to embed images, videos, and text and how to share this presentation with others.



This session will be presented by Mary Villaume. Mary is a Microsoft Learning Consultant who spent fourteen years teaching middle and high school English and Latin. Before teaching, she was a network administrator, which inspired her to use technology in the classroom.

Learners enrolled in this course will gain a deeper understanding of how parents/guardians navigate around the platform, view student grades, courses, upcoming assignments, discussions and tests and quizzes. Participants will also review communication tools and groups.

VIRTUAL SESSION: Getting Started with Schoology

In this "getting started" session, participants will learn how to navigate the Schoology platform, experience Schoology as a student, prepare materials for use in their Schoology courses and share content within the PLC environment. Schoology integrates videos and online tools, such as One Drive, into a single environment so teachers can create engaging online content and students can easily move between learning activities.

Enhancing Instruction with Embeddable Content is designed to empower instructors and course developers to harness the native power of Schoology alongside a wealth of external web-based tools. When embedding content in Schoology, instructors and course developers dramatically enhance their instruction by creating dynamic and engaging learner experiences. This course examines the concepts of embedding, linking, and using LTI tools within Schoology. Mastery of the course learning objectives will enable participants to design content that takes Schoology instruction to the next level.

VIRTUAL SESSION: Nearpod-A Dynamic Tool to Support your Direct Instruction

Unlock insights into student learning in your classroom with Nearpod. Know where every student is in their learning and adapt instruction in real-time with in-the-moment feedback. You can import your pre-existing PowerPoint presentations and embed formative questions, polls, videos, and quizzes. What makes this even better? The Nearpod lessons used during direct instruction can be turned into self-paced learning opportunities for absent students or students during learning stations.

VIRTUAL SESSION: Schoology Using Portfolios

Participants in this course will learn how to create, edit, and share a Schoology Portfolio. Throughout the session, the instructor will review a variety of portfolios that highlight both student and educator applications. Sample rubrics for portfolio evaluation will also be shared. Ultimately those enrolled in this course will learn how Schoology Portfolios provide students and educators with the ability to quickly and easily collect, organize, summarize, and share their work and accomplishments with others.

IN PERSON SESSION: Deep Dive in Schoology

Recommended Prerequisite: Getting Started with Schoology


In this follow-up Schoology training, participants will walk through the process for creating assignments (including the OneDrive Assignments App) and discussions within Schoology. You will learn how to grade these items and provide individualized feedback for your students through rubrics, comments, or audio. We will also examine embedding resources such as PowerPoints, Microsoft Forms, and YouTube videos on pages in Schoology.


This is an IN-PERSON session.
