Monthly Events Of Wildcats: March 2020

Principals Message

I am very excited to share all of the amazing things going on at TEWMS! In this newsletter, I am able to highlight our students who participated in National History Day (NHD), Odyssey of the Mind (OM), Pasco County Fair through FFA, and our team turn-around students!

As we move towards the end of the third quarter it is extremely important that students (and families) monitor student assignments and grades through MyStudent. I highly recommend that you set up an account NOW so that you have full access to these reports as well as your students attendance, grades, test scores and class assignments. Register for a "Parent MyStudent" account. Here is a step-by-step video to assist you with this process. Please communicate with your child's teachers when you have a question, are looking for help, or have a concern about an assignment or grades.

The "Pasco Parent Press" is a communication to share information of all things occurring within Pasco County schools. Check here for the latest information.

Readiness Re Coronavirus

Pasco County Schools has a comprehensive pandemic plan that includes preventative measures as well as strategies for a response in the event of a locally reported case. Pasco County schools is working to ensure adequate supplies so that students and staff are able to wash their hands frequently. Our school nurses, maintenance, food service, and transportation staff know their roles, and we are working to ensure they have the supplies they need as well. These preventative measures will help us to deal with the much more common occurrence of the flu, as well as the coronavirus.

Pasco County Schools' website has been updated to include a video from Superintendent Browning, as well as helpful links to CDC and Health Department information. Pasco county wants to make it clear to parents, staff, and the public that there is no immediate cause for concern, and that we are being proactive in protecting the health and wellbeing of our students and staff.

Career Technical Education @ TEWMS

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with such a fabulous a tour of your school and in particular, your CTE classrooms. It meant a lot to us that you took the time to share your programs with us. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting each of your teachers and their students. Please tell the teachers, thank you for allowing us to interrupt their class time with students. It was so evident that you have amazing CTE teachers doing great things for students!

~Lori M. Romano, Ph.D. Director of CTE

Big picture

TEWMS FFA @ Pasco County Fair

February was a big month for Weightman Middle FFA!

At the Pasco County Fair, our swine exhibitors participated in showmanship, a record book contest, and the pig show and sale. Our rabbit exhibitors participated in showmanship, a record book contest, a skillathon, an ask-me booth and the rabbit show. Finishing up the month, our dairy judging team participated in the Strawberry Festival. Earlier in the year, the team missed progressing to the state competition by one place.
