Greetings!
I was so excited to welcome back our students from winter break and meet all of our new students! I am here to help support students as they transition back to school and begin the second semester. I have attached some social-emotional learning activities in this newsletter if you are interested.

Thank you so much for supporting Truman families through our holiday wish lists. Your generosity allowed us to help 7 families (16 kids!). Wow! We are so thankful to have such wonderful community members that support Truman.
Save the Date- The Great Kindness Challenge!
The Great Kindness Challenge will be February 7-11. We always encourage our students to show kindness all year long, but this week is dedicated to learning about and practicing kindness. Students will learn new and creative ways to spread kindness to each other.
Norman Public Schools Kindness shirts are for sale here with child and adult sizes! The shirts will be available for pre-order from now until January 24. Be sure to put your child's name, school name, grade, and teacher to help it get delivered to the right place!
COULD YOUR LITTLE ONE USE A BIG?
It all starts with the right role models. And Big Brothers Big Sisters is the place to start a relationship with one. For over 100 years, due in large part to private donations, they’ve been able to recruit, screen, match, and support mentoring relationships that have changed the lives of hundreds of thousands of young people across the country.
Please use the link below to sign your little up for the BBBS program. Students need to be at least 6 years of age to participate in the school based program. We have been informed that they have lots of volunteers signed up and ready to be matched with a student. This is such a powerful and important program. Please let Mrs. Massey if you need any information or help signing your student up.
Denise Massey - Truman Primary Counselor
Mrs. Massey is the school counselor at Truman Primary. She graduated with her Bachelor's from the University of Oklahoma and her Master's from the University of Central Oklahoma. Mrs. Massey enjoys gardening, musicals, Sooner football, OKC Thunder basketball, and playing with her puppies.
I believe it is my job to serve as a resource for you. If you have any needs or concerns, please reach out.
