January Newsletter
Wishing you and yours a Happy New Year!
The new year is upon us and many individuals will set New Year’s resolutions. Although we are optimistic that the goals we set are attainable, we must be realistic and allow ourselves some flexibility. As we move into the next few months, encourage your children to set mini-goals, assist them in creating a plan, support their progress and recognize their accomplishments. If your children can commit to one “resolution”, the benefit can positively affect their entire day. Have them take the initiative to become actively involved in identifying their goal(s) and self-monitoring along the way.
On another note, this time of year brings bouts of illness. The cold and flu season is unavoidable and often we debate whether to send children to school. Please use your best judgment. You know your child best. If your child has a fever or is vomiting, please keep them home and call the school to inform us of the absence. A note upon the child’s return to school is required to make the absence “legal” or “excused”. If your child is complaining of a stuffy nose or a sore throat, have him/her attempt school. If he/she is truly not feeling well, he/she should visit the school nurse. She will call parents as necessary.
As a reminder, please contact the Main Office at (716) 478-4402 to inform us of any change in your phone number, address or email address.
