For to us a child is born,

to us a son is given,

and the government will be on his shoulders.

And he will be called

School Updates

Educational Plan:

Beginning in the new year, on Jan. 4, we will continue with secondary students in a hybrid model of Limited In-Person Instruction and Distance Learning, same as scheduled in December. Elementary students will be in-person, 5 days a week, full days. Preschool will continue in-person, with a morning program running each day. Please note that when adjustments to our plans are necessary, we will communicate in a timely and clear manner.

Parents who desire, or find it necessary, to have their student in remote learning during in-person hours, need to communicate with the office and teacher. We request that this be communicated with 24 hours notice, when possible. It may be necessary for the teacher to prepare materials for a parent to pick up in the office for these arrangements.

Quarantine Guidance:

The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) announced an update to their quarantine guidelines, following new guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). While the health agency maintains that quarantining for 14 days after being exposed to someone with COVID-19 is still the safest option to prevent the spread of the disease, there are now shorter options available. For example, if a person does not exhibit symptoms, they can opt to end their quarantine after ten days. If a person was exposed but got a negative test result "from an antigen or polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test that was administered less than 48 hours before they end quarantine," the quarantine can be shortened to seven days. OHA said that should a person shorten their quarantine, there is still a small chance that they could spread the virus, and they should continue to monitor their symptoms for the full 14 days.

At NCCS, we continue to follow guidance from OHA and CDC when managing COVID related protocols and issues. For this moment moving forward, we will make this adjustment to align with the new update regarding students or staff needing to quarantine. Those students or staff that wish to return within the option for 7-day quarantine with a negative test result, a required medical report with test results will need to be provided to the office prior to attendance in-person. Otherwise, a 10-day quarantine will be the new minimum requirement when exposed or diagnosed, while a 14-day quarantine is very appropriate.

2021-22 Re-Enrollment Opens Jan. 4

For our current families, re-enrollment opens on Jan. 4, with first priority before we open up enrollment to new applicants on Jan. 19. It is important that parents prayerfully consider future plans for their students' education and attend to re-enrollment in a timely manner during the two week window. As you know, we have limited space in every grade level.

It is our hope that everyone will choose to return to NCCS and that we will also welcome new families in the coming year where we have openings available. Questions can be directed to

UPDATE... New Date for Europe Tour - Open for New Travelers!

The 13-Day Europe Tour (originally scheduled for March) has been rescheduled for departure on July 7, 2021. This tour with Education First (EF) includes travel through Italy, France and Spain. We are excited about the opportunity to offer this experience to our high school students. Due to the rescheduling of this tour for a later date, enrollment is back open for new travelers to join us! Please check out the TOUR SITE for information and enrollment. We have included in the package, a Peace of Mind Policy and a Global Travel Protection Plan to ensure our travel is protected from circumstances that could arise. For questions, please contact Mrs. James, Tour Leader.

A Message From Our Dean of Students:

North Clackamas will offer the 8th, 9th, and 10th grade versions of the PSAT for students in those grades in February. The purpose of taking the exam at these levels is to build familiarity with the PSAT exam and also to assess if a student is "on track" for college readiness, specifically in the core areas of math, reading, and language. Certainly, the PSAT 8/9 and PSAT 10 - as with all standardized assessments - serve as just one way of evaluating a student's academic strengths and abilities. The test is $17, and you can sign up to have your student participate at this link: PSAT 8/9 and PSAT 10.

If you are interested in receiving your child's (K-10) fall MAP test information, please contact Mrs. Moore. It is our practice to send out the reports in the spring with report cards, but we are able to provide them upon request at any time.

In January, each junior will have a conversation with Mrs. Moore to start looking ahead to senior year (yes, already!). They can bring questions about credits, about anything for next year, about things for after high school, and also about anything with current classes. This announcement has been posted in the 11th grade Advisory Google Classroom along with a sign-up sheet.

Thank you for the feedback on our recent Parent Survey. Your responses have been reviewed by Admin, Staff, and Board. We value your input and appreciate your partnership!

Big picture

Health Screening Prior to Daily Attendance

In our ongoing effort to keep on-site instruction possible, we remind parents of the understanding to complete daily health checks prior to school attendance every day. Please continue to monitor and screen your student for COVID-19 symptoms. The protocols should be followed when they present signs of illness. Parents must keep their student home and notify the office when a student presents these signs of illness or if there has been COVID exposure.

Thank you for being consistent in partnering with us on our protocols during this time.

School Closing + Emergency Announcements

Please review this document and make sure that your information is up to date in RenWeb. In the case of an emergency and for general communication, current parent contact information is vital.
