Have You Filled A Bucket Today!
Ms. McGroarty's Classroom:
This week in our wonderful first grade world, we explored the simple yet countless ways we can be kind. We read the book "Have You Filled A Bucket Today?" by Carol McCloud. We discussed how to be a bucket filler and not a bucket dipper. I challenged the kids to create their own kindness bucket at home! Their bucket creations have blown me away!! Throughout virtual learning, when we catch each other being kind or a good friend to one another, we fill our buckets. We learned that when we make our friends feel good, it fills our own buckets too! I encouraged parents and families to participate and fill the buckets on the weekends or after school hours when their student is exemplifying kindness. To finish the project, students took to Flipgrid to share a quick video explaining one way they can be kind at school and at home! This week has truly proved that kindness can travel any distance and our class continues to become a family one bucket filler at a time!
