BRRRRRRR........ It's getting cold!
Please be reminded that if your child is feeling ill, they should stay home from school. If someone in your household has been tested for COVID, your children should stay at home pending the results of that test. If someone in your home tests positive, your entire family should quarantine to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus. Please call the school office or the corporation nurse if you have questions/concerns.
School Messenger
Huntington County Community School Corporation uses SchoolMessenger to send notices to all staff and parents/guardians of school delays, closings, and emergency notifications via email and text. To sign up to receive the text messages, please:
- Make sure your cell phone number is up to date in PowerSchool. Contact your school secretary to confirm or make changes
- Text to 67587 the letter Y for “Yes”
- Once you receive a reply text, be sure to “Opt In”
- If you wish to not receive text messages, you may “Opt Out” at any time by texting N for “No” to the same number
Please be sure to keep your cell phone number and email address up to date with your building secretary in PowerSchool in the event of any change in number or email address to ensure you continue to receive notifications as PowerSchool synchronizes with SchoolMessenger during the night. Updating your cell phone number will require you to sign up again using the steps above after the synchronization. Be sure to white list the email address noreply@hccsc.k12.in.us when logged in to your email account.
Songwriting with Salamonie
3rd, 4th and 5th grade students wrote a song with song writer Steve Seskin during a virtual assembly that was offered through the Honeywell Center in Wabash. Steve has written songs that have been recorded by John Michael Montgomery, Tim McGraw, Neal McCoy and Kenny Chesney . . . to name a few.
The first verse was written by 3rd grade.
The second verse was written by 5th grade.
The chorus was written by 4th grade.
Great job Salamonie Students!
