A Message from Dr. Mitzner
Hope your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I just wanted to highlight the Titans Care Event. Our students and families gave to the community in some big ways!
Here is the recap from our Titans Care Event:
- Mailed 87 lbs of Legos to Brick Recycler on Friday.- Collected 24 electronic devices for Houston Zoo
- Delivered 80+ items on Amazon Registry to Krause Center.
Thanks for everyone's support!
Regards,
Dr. Kris Mitzner

KISD Virtual Art Gallery
A highlight for staff at the ESC is student artwork displayed on the bulletin boards throughout all of the hallways. In past years parents have been invited to bring family members and tour the art on display, taking photos of their child’s artwork.
This year, rather than family groups entering the ESC, the Fine Arts Department has created a virtual art gallery. The virtual art gallery is a stellar example of how challenges such as COVID can lead to new and improved ways to celebrate student achievement and recognize success of our teachers.

Talking Books Program - Senate Bill 2075
Throughout Texas, children with disabilities that prevent them from reading standard print are enjoying the world of reading through the Talking Book Program (TBP). The TBP is a FREE service that allows students with a reading disability, like dyslexia, the opportunity to read. The TBP offers more than 125,000 titles and 80 plus magazines, all read with human narration. Materials can be downloaded via the Braille and Audio Reading Download (BARD) Mobile app, on a smartphone or tablet. The program is completely free, with no charges and no overdue fees. For more information, visit www.tsl.texas.gov/tbp/reading_disabilities, email tbp.services@tsl.texas.gov or call 1-800-252-9605. The TBP staff will be happy to answer questions and help parents apply for service.
If your child has not been identified as having a reading disability, please be aware that Katy ISD offers audio books for secondary students through Sora eBook/Audiobooks. Contact your child’s campus for more information about this audiobook program.
