End-of-the-Year Communications
As we are preparing all things “end-of-the-year” communication, we wanted to note or clarify a few pertinent details:
Report Cards
Reminder: report cards are due by Wednesday, May 27.
Cindy/Cathy will print report cards and get them into materials bags by 5/29 for distribution on Wednesday, June 3.
Only prioritized/identified ELA and Math targets will be reported upon. All other targets (Science, SS, Special Subjects, etc) will be blank.
A suggested report card comment may be: It’s definitely been an unusual 3rd trimester, but I’ve seen John grow so much over the course of this year. I look forward to being back together in person soon. Have a great summer!
If you have a student who you feel you lack evidence to report progress, please let me know and we can discuss further as to how to report this on for targets.
Progress Reports/Goal Updates
Tiered Reading and Math progress reports should be sent to the Admin Assts by Wednesday, May 27. They will be printed and sent home with report cards.
Special Education Goal Updates: Case managers and service providers should email goal updates to parents, with a BCC to principals. A hard copy will also be printed and included with the report card.
REPEATED FROM LAST WEEK:
UPDATE: End-of-the-Year Materials Pick-Up/Tech Drop-Off
- REMINDER: All materials must be packed and on the tables in the gym on Friday, 5/29, so that they remain untouched until 6/3 for safety.
- Brown bags for packed materials are in the library
- Parents read these logistics in my Weekly Update TODAY, and will continue to see it until 6/3
- Please reach out directly to students/parents who have specific items to return (ie resource materials, novels, etc.) to make sure they know what to bring in day-of. I recommend reaching out NOW (when they've just seen my email re: logistics) AND on 6/2 as a reminder!
Tutoring Over the Summer:
I know that many of you like to host private tutoring sessions over the summer in your classroom or in our building; unfortunately, we are NOT going to allow any tutoring in D101 classrooms/buildings this summer as a safety precaution. You are, of course, welcome to tutor our kiddos - but you'll need to do so from a separate location. Thanks!
REMINDER: D101 Remote Learning Website:
Please be sure to post your updated taskboards on our D101 Remote Learning website when you send them to students/parents weekly, so our "one stop shop" for all things remote learning is complete and up to date. Thank you!
Principal Weekly Update for Parents:
Here's this week's parent update, in case yours went to spam.
Shout Outs!!!!
- To Liz, Jane, Kristin, Katie, Sydney, and Scott for assigning the Climate Survey as a "must-do" item this week and following up with their kiddos to make sure it got completed. Thanks!
- To our primary team: DANG. You've not only kept our littles afloat and moving along, you've kept them with smiles on their faces, happy hearts, and engaging experiences that LOOK easy but have kept you on every available toe with and for our youngest, most impressionable students: this has been HARD, and you've (almost - 1.5 weeks left!) done it!!!!!!!
- To my crew on-cycle evaluation this year; we're done!
- To all of our amazing assistants for stepping up to the plate in alllllllll kinds of ways, both big and small, to help us as we keep our kids moving and wrap the year.
- To Kevin and Martez, for being there every day to keep our building safe, clean, and spotless -- and gathering serious momentum on our R4I and summer projects!
- To Sydney, for throwing herself head-first into supporting her most challenging student at the utmost level even through these last few days of school... and for the impact that exceptional commitment has already had! (COUNTERBALANCE: we are all still mad at you for breaking our hearts.)
- To Kerry, Lisa, Sean, Terri, Laurie, Christine, Jill, Gini, and Maureen -- it's Annual Review season, and you're glued to your screens in meetings while simultaneously juggling support for our kiddos (and, for many, your own!) and you're ACING it.
- For Ryan, Vickie, Courtney, Lisa Gru., Amy, Nicole, Sal, and Sean who continue to out-do themselves in their planning for our Monday activities and presence with our kids -- just you wait for the ideas coming out for our last Monday of school, 6/1 -- dang!
- To Lori, Lisa Gi., and Denise, for continuing to run small group sessions and push our kids to get a little further, dig a little deeper, practice a little more -- and for keeping them engaged, when engagement is ROUGH!
