Sturgeon Bay High School Newsletter
A Message From Principal Nerby
Hello SBHS Family and Friends,
We have made it to the final quarter of the school year! With less than 9 weeks of school left, it means we have many different events and activities going on before we close out the 2022-2023 school year. This week, we have no school on Friday, April 7 and we wish all of our students and families a nice holiday weekend.
Next week, Wednesday, April 12, we will be having our Pre-ACT Test. This exam is for all Freshmen and Sophomore students. All other high school students will be off that day. For freshmen and sophomore students, we will start the day and test at 8:00am. A bell schedule for the day can be found HERE and is also below in this newsletter. Freshmen will be dismissed at 11:25am and get lunch before they leave. Sophomores will have lunch and then complete the Forward exam before they are dismissed at 1:45pm. Busses will run at the normal times that day. Below is a quick snapshot of the day:
Wednesday, April 12
- No School for juniors and seniors
- Pre-ACT testing for freshmen and sophomores
- Testing is from 8:00am - 11:25am
- Freshmen are dismissed after 11:25
- Sophomores will eat lunch and then start the Forward Exam at 12:00
- Sophomores are dismissed by 1:45pm
Also, next week, we will be holding a senior meeting during Monday's Homeroom where I will go over the end of the year expectations and requirements for our seniors and graduation. As a reminder, our graduation ceremony will be held on Saturday, June 3 at 10:00am at the high school gymnasium. I will share with the students the importance of finishing the year strong and the expectations for the end of the school year. This is always an exciting time for our senior class! I will share more information with senior families after the meeting.
At the end of this month, we will be holding Prom on Saturday, April 29 at Stone Harbor. Prom will run from 8:00pm - 11:00pm and this is always a fun and exciting way to celebrate the last quarter of the year.
As the weather warms, I want to take a moment to remind our families about the importance of dressing appropriately for school. This means that clothing should cover all undergarments and no spaghettis straps, midriffs, boxers showing, chains on clothing, or inappropriate messages or pictures on shirts. We appreciate your support in ensuring Sturgeon Bay is a welcoming, safe, and respectful place for all students.
As you read through the newsletter, please take a look at the celebrations and amazing students we have here. I continue to be impressed and grateful for the community we live in and all the great things we have going on. Thank you for your continued support of Sturgeon Bay High School and, as always, please reach out with any questions.
All my best,
Keith Nerby
Principal

We had 37 entries that were all rated a first or second rating.
The band wishes to thank everyone who came to our annual pops concert fundraiser. Your ongoing support of our band program enables us to continue long standing traditions. Funds from the concert help pay a portion of our curricular trip to Florida every four years, pays for accompanists for solo-ensemble, medals for solo ensemble and other unbudgeted needs in the band program. Next year's pops concert is slated for March 1. We are already looking for parent volunteers so please contact Mrs. Hintz if you would like to help.
Tadych's Marketplace Foods - Please save your Tadych's Marketplace Foods receipts for the band program. You can bring them into the bandroom anytime and it is an easy way to support the band program.
Thank you to everyone who came out for the St. Patrick's Day parade event to support our band program. Our band students were proud to serve the community by providing music for this event.
