First Full Week in the Books
Tiger Families,
Our year is off to a fantastic start! A few important reminders:
- The heat is here, but we're keeping our cool! A big THANK YOU to our campus supervisors who, with spray bottles in hand, make sure our Tigers remain cool, hydrated, and make use of the shady and air conditioned areas that are always available on especially warm days. We continue to follow district guidance by making the air conditioned MPR available during recesses when the temperature reaches 95-99 degrees. When the temperature reaches 100+ degrees, all lunch and recesses will take place in air conditioned buildings. Be assured, our students' safety is always our first priority.
- Please support our school and students by joining PTA. Our PTA supports many programs at Wildwood including music, art, PE, assemblies, field trips, classroom supplies and much more!
- Please remember that the 8:05am bell is the reminder for students to make their way to their classroom lines and for parents to make their way to the campus exits. The 5 minutes between the 8:05am warning bell and the 8:10am bell is an important window of time for students to settle their bodies and ready their minds for the day ahead.
Looking to this week, there is NO SCHOOL on Monday, September 5th, and the K-5 Back-to-School Night is this Thursday, September 8. Back-to-School Night is a parent/guardian ONLY event that should not be missed. It is one of the best ways to begin building that all-important home-school connection and learn how you can best support your child's academic, social, and emotional growth this school year.
See you all on Thursday!
~ Mr. Lynch

School meals for the 2022-2023 school year will be available to all students at no charge. Although all students will receive free meals through the duration of this school year, we request for all families to complete this Online Free / Reduced Meal Eligibility for School Year 2022-2023 form, as this form affects a variety of areas unrelated to school meals, including school funding, college application fees, SAT fees, bus passes and more. Even if your child does not plan to eat school lunches, it is important to fill out this form to help ensure our schools and families receive the available resources.

High-Speed Internet for All - Last Call
High-speed internet has become a necessity of modern life, which is why the Ventura County Office of Education is supporting a statewide effort to make it available to everyone.
The California Broadband Council is spreading the word that low-income families can receive a $30 monthly discount on home internet service and a $100 discount on a computer or tablet. There are about 80,000 households in Ventura County who are eligible for these discounts that haven’t yet applied.
