4th Grade Trip to the Museum of Science!
What's Happening at GES?
Dear GES Families and Friends,
Happy Friday! We've enjoyed a wonderful time at the ocean this week as our classes learned all kinds of interesting things about the ocean and the creatures that live there! Our walls and windows are decorated with all kinds of magical sea creatures created in Art this week. I hope you all had a good week and are looking forward to the return of sunshine and warmer days next week! We sure are! The weather forecast looks good for our Field Day on Thursday, June 15th. Volunteers are welcome, so if you are interested in helping out, please email Karen Paul at kpaul@conval.edu and let her know what your availability is that day.
Our 4th graders have been working hard memorizing their lines and songs for the 4th grade play! They are excited to share it with families on Wednesday, June 14th at 6:00pm. Following the play we will host a small ceremony and celebration as they wrap up their time at GES and get ready for bigger and better things!
UPCOMING IMPORTANT DATES-PLEASE CHECK AND ADD TO YOUR CALENDAR!
6/12-6/16/23: Special of the Week: PE/Health with Mrs. Parker-DON'T FORGET YOUR SNEAKERS!
6/14/23: 4TH GRADE CELEBRATION AND PLAY PERFORMANCE AT 6:00PM. Students should arrive by 5:45 to get ready.
6/15/23: GES Field Day! Details coming Monday!
6/16/23: LAST DAY OF SCHOOL! This is a half day and dismissal will be at noon!
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Activities like this year's Circus Residency, last year's NHDI Dance Residency, STEM days, Art Days and Field trips are all possible due to the PTO fundraising and support. We can't provide these enrichment activities without their help!
Is the day and time of meetings what is keeping you from joining? No worries! They are flexible and open to changing the day and time to meet the needs of more families! Maybe meeting right before or after school works better! They can meet most any day! Would an online option work better for you? They can do that! Is the monthly meeting too much of a commitment? They are open to trying something different and meeting fewer times each year! Did you know they provide FREE childcare during the meeting?
Wondering what the PTO Officers do and if your skill set might be a perfect match? Check out the job descriptions:
President-responsible for running all meetings and coordinating the work of the officers and committees.
Vice-President-supports the President and performs the duties of the President if they aren't available.
Secretary-takes meeting minutes to share with the greater school community, creates the school directory, meeting agendas and conducts any necessary correspondence.
Treasurer-receives all money from fundraisers, keeps an accurate record of receipts and expenditures and makes payments and reimbursements. Provides a financial statement for each meeting and provides records for tax purposes.
Please consider joining the PTO and continuing the amazing work they have done over the years. Email our current PTO President Ashley Wadleigh at ashleywadleigh15@gmail.com or Karen Paul at kpaul@conval.edu and let them know that you are interested in joining the team. Meetings will resume next fall, so be on the lookout for more information then!

Where to find ConVal District and GES News!
The ConVal School District has news blog to serve as a hub for the latest updates, information and news about the district’s schools, students, faculty, events and accomplishments.
The blog, ConValNews.com is integrated into the schools and District’s Facebook and Twitter accounts and will automatically broadcast news blog content onto these platforms, connecting directly with the district community.
With a clean, user-friendly and mobile responsive layout, the news blog allows for easy navigation throughout. It can be accessed on computers, cell phones and tablets. Community members can subscribe and be notified by email when new posts are published.
Parents/guardians, students, staff, and community members should still utilize the district’s main website, Convalsd.net, to access the District-wide calendar of events, contact information, school committee meeting notices and minutes, important documents and notices and to view general information about the district and its schools.
