Read with Malcolm - Virtual Summer Reading Camp

READCamp, a Training Camp for Summer Reading, to help tackle the summer learning slide. Malcolm Mitchell, former Super Bowl champion and struggling reader in college, has laid out a Reading Program for this summer. See his reading protocol and take the challenge.

Dekalb County Public Library

The DeKalb County Public Library is a GREAT source for reading for all genres and all ages.The TEEN ebook collection of the public library can be found HERE. Click the search button and then go down to advanced search for numerous ways to find what you want. You can also go back to the main library if you choose.

Click the button below for directions to get or renew a library card online. (Staff that live outside of DeKalb County can also get a card if you work at DeKalb Schools.) This offer has been extended until the library reopens!

MyOn Digital Library

MyOn, is a Digital library of more than 6,400 enhanced digital books. Click HERE , login and start reading.

Login information

For High School level books, click >> Library >> Blue Search Button >> Grade Level >> then 9 or +.

Teen Book Cloud

Teen Book Cloud is a digital library with Fiction, Non-Fiction, Drama & Poetry, Enhanced eBooks, Graphic Novels, Videos, AP English, and Audio-books. Check it out.

Sora eBooks on Launchpad/Clever

New Feature using Sora - eBooks
Digital library of both eBooks and audiobooks anytime, anywhere! No login needed when accessed via Launchpad. Select your school and start reading.
Go to Sora using Launchpad/CLEVER
Scroll down under ELA - Click on the Sora icon.

To set preferences for grade level: On the blue bar at the left, click preferences. Next click Audience. Then select young adult and general adult. Then click APPLY. Your searches will be confined to 6-12 grades. (This would include all high school books)

Only one person can check out a title at a time, so read the sample before you check your book out. (No library card, etc., is needed, and your chosen title automatically returns itself when it comes due.)

Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl

The HRRB (Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl) is a reading competition between high schools in DeKalb County, the region and the state. Stephenson High is looking for new team members for the bowl that will take place end of January 2021. Team members can enhance their reading skills as well as comprehension and build a camaraderie with the team. All teams read the same list of books, the Ga Peach Teen Book Award books. All the books are available now online through Sora or the public library. If you would like to consider being part of the team, contact Mrs. Burnside in the media center when school resumes. You may start reading any of the books this summer.
