Principal's Point 8/20/20
We are so excited to welcome your students back to campus next week! Our teachers have been hard at work preparing their classrooms, our office staff have been laying down social distance markers and directional arrows in our hallways, and our administrative team have been creating processes to make sure we have a safe environment to learn in. We are looking forward to seeing students again!
Thank you to everyone who filled out the instructional choice survey. 56% of our students will be in person while 44% chose to go remote. We are committed to creating an excellent learning environment where strong, positive relationships can form between students and teachers no matter if our students are remote or in person. Teachers can't wait to get started!
With the information you gave us in the survey, our counselors are working day and night to build a new master schedule for our remote and in person learners. Even in a normal year, this task can be challenging, but the added complexity of remote and in person schedules, and doing it in a compressed timeline (it normally takes about five months!) will lead to later than normal schedules for our students. We hope to have them completed in the afternoon on the 25th. As soon as we have them done, we will send them out to you.
We really appreciate your patience as we work through this together.
I know that a lot of you are anxious about the start of the year, but we are planning to take our time over the course of the first three half days of school to get to know our students, teach them the new rules and processes as well as walk them through all of it as much as needed. We still want the first day to be fun and as welcoming as can be!
We will be sending out a virtual tour soon as well as more information about the first week of school over the next few days.
Thank you for all of your support during this time.

School Start/End Times Changed
Our building will open its doors at 8:15AM and classes will start at 8:30AM. Students are to enter the building and go directly to their first period unless they need breakfast.
Our end of day staggered release will begin at 3:45PM with the goal of having all students out of the building by 4PM.
Students may remain on campus past dismissal for participation in Fine Arts or a UIL event only.
Please help us by refraining from dropping off your student prior to 8:15AM and please pick them up promptly after school. This will help us make sure that students are socially distant.
We have partnered with Clayton Youth Enrichment program to support our students who may have to be dropped off early or picked up late. This is an affordable option for families and we are thankful for their help. Please click on the link above for more information on Clayton.
Remote Learner Supply Pick Up Day : Tuesday Aug. 25
If you indicated that your child will be a remote learner on the instructional choice survey, TMS will do a campus pick up for items on Tuesday August 25 from 9am - 6pm. At that pick up time, you will be able to pick up the following items.
Your student’s school supplies for the year
2019-2020 yearbook (if previously purchased)
Technology (if requested on the instructional choice survey)
School Planner can be purchased for $5 (cash or check only)
This is a pick up day for our remote learners only. In person students will receive their school supplies and previously purchased yearbooks in class. School planners will be available for purchase in the front office once school starts.
Medication Drop off for In Person Students : Aug 21 & 24
Hello Timberview Families and Greetings from the Campus Clinic!
This message is for parents of students who will be learning In Person when we begin the school year.
We are so excited to get started on the 2020-21 school year! I hope everyone had a fun, safe and healthy summer. As we prepare for the school year, I want to make sure we have any critical and necessary medications on campus and available should your student need them. This may include any daily medications that need to be given, rescue inhalers and epi - pens, to name a few. Please remember that any medication to be given on campus must be supplied by the parent/guardian and it must have a signed Medication Authorization Form (attached). This year we are asking that all inhalers be dropped off with a spacer. The newest research shows this is best practice and helps reduce the spread of the inhalant and possible respiratory droplets. These can be purchased over the counter, and even amazon sells them.
Unfortunately, we cannot allow visitors, including parents and guardians into the clinic at this time. To help accommodate the need for getting medications and forms dropped off to the campus nurse, we will be offering a Drop Off Event prior to school starting. You will be able to come into the foyer to drop off your student's medications. Please have your Medication Authorization form filled out to turn in or submitted to the link below prior to dropping off the medication. Every medication needs to have a medication authorization form. This gives me permission to give your student his or her medication. A form from the doctor is not needed, but can always be turned in as well if you deem it necessary.

Please drop off medications:
Friday August 21 from 8:30am-10:30am
Monday August 24 from 8:30am-2:00pm
ALL MEDICATION MUST HAVE THE ACCOMPANYING MEDICATION AUTHORIZATION FORM. If you do not submit the form in the link, please have a hard copy pre filled out. I will not be accepting the medication without one.
Please keep in mind that this year, it is more important than ever to limit student traffic in the nurse's office so that we can maintain the best infection control practices. Before sending in medications, please consider if it is a necessity to have on campus or is it possible to give it at home before or after school instead of during the school day. We want to do whatever we can for our students while keeping the campus and clinic as safe as possible.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. We are here to help and we know that this is a new and challenging time for us all! We look forward to a healthy and safe school year!

We have created a series of one-pagers to briefly highlight our processes for arrival/dismissal, breakfast/lunch, and campus safety measures. We will work with our teachers to develop detailed processes for each of the items that these documents discuss.
