Where SUPERHERO STAFF believe, SUPERHERO STUDENTS achieve!
Keeping the Dream alive...............
That was so fast! It is my hope that the opportunity you had to self select professional development proved a success. I also hope that team time was productive and refreshing. We are in this together and for all the right reasons, FOR KIDS.
As we ease into mid-January, we do so with focus, knowing that we are at the mid-way mark and what we do between now and April will impact student achievement, but what we do each day impacts a lifetime of student growth. We don't teach to a test, we make meaningful instructional decisions, we mess up, we adjust and we grow----we grow ourselves and we grow our students, every day. We are growing together!
I hope that you were able to spend sometime on Monday, January 18 reflecting on the contributions of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. I have the true date situated now (Upper)! For some reason I got that mixed up! Much like I did a few names during the assembly! #mistakes. If you can't make a mistake you can't make anything. Maybe you went to the parade, maybe you watched a documentary or maybe you reflected on your life. A Dr. Martin Luther King's quotes that resonate with me are:
- The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.
- Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase.
- Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.
The reason we selected this work is to serve, to make a difference. Know that each day you show up for kids you are making a difference! Have a great week ahead.....

This process is NOT evaluative in nature. You are asked to AVOID identifying the name and classroom number of teachers during this process. You are only collecting data. Once the data is received, the team will identify trends/themes and select a rating from the Rubric again. Please remember that this process is a collaborative, we all make up the culture of Bell. If you have additional questions, don't hesitate. A sample of the capture sheet is attached, as well as the rubric. Everyone will have a visit.
Let's find out, are we a healthy learning environment?
