Pupil Services Monthly

Special Edition (09/04/2020)

Welcome back and Happy Friday!

Thank you! We appreciate you!

On Thursday, I participated in DESE's Zoom session for Special Education Directors with Russell Johnston (Senior Associate Commissioner). During this Zoom, Russell and his team released the revised "COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions for Schools and District Regarding Special Education" document. I am sharing it with all of you because many of you have reached out with questions about special education. Please reach out if you need additional clarification. I will be releasing an MPS FAQ for special education to staff and families.

Merriam-Webster.com's dictionary defines perseverance as "continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failure, or opposition." Since March, I have seen this in our staff. Because I have seen this, I know that we can do this! YOU CAN DO THIS!

Thank you for your patience, flexibility as we embark on this new journey. We are in this together!

Enjoy the long, holiday weekend,
