Be An Active Parent/Caregiver
In study after study, researchers have discovered how important it is for parents to be actively involved in their child’s education.
Studies find that students with involved parents are more likely to:
· have higher grades and test scores
· pass their classes, earn credit, and be promoted
· attend school on a regular basis
· have better social skills, show good behavior, and adapt well to school
· graduate and go on to further education
When school and families work together to support learning, children tend to succeed not just in school, but throughout life. In fact, the most accurate predictor of a student’s achievement in school is not income or social status, but the extent to which the students family is creating and safe and loving home environment that encourages learning and a home that expresses their expectations for their child’s achievement and future.
REMINDERS
· Dress warm for our cold temps !! Students go outside for recess unless it is below zero. Please please be sure they have hats and gloves, warm coats, and boots. The fresh air is awesome for them. We never leave them outside too long. Its so fun for them when they are dressed properly.
· Bus issues. If you must make a bus change please contact the school office as soon as possible. Bus changes affect all riders. Please keep one pick up and one drop off point if at all possible.
· Boys & Girls Basketball games and Wrestling matches are just around the corner. Please do not send small children to games unattended. Students should not be roaming the halls at our school or any other school during games or matches Please come to watch the game/match.
