Reignier Catholic School Newsletter
14th November 2022 - Issue # 12
FROM THE TUMUAKI
Tēnā koutou, tēnā koutou, tēnā koutou katoa.
This is our last official newsletter for 2022. I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to the students, staff, whānau and community of Reignier Catholic School.
As you will read below our staffing remains predominantly the same in 2023, with a couple of slight changes. Mrs Alexander, who has been with us in a fixed term role teaching in Room 2, will move into the role of our Reading Recovery Teacher. This is to allow Mrs Sarah Lee the opportunity to undertake further study next year at EIT. We are lucky to still have her throughout next year in a teacher release role.
I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow night at our End of Year Mass and Prizegiving. This is a special occasion where we are able to join as Community, to celebrate and acknowledge the Special Character of our kura and our students. The coming together to end our year in this way and to participate in Eucharist reminds us why Reignier Catholic School exists and fulfilling the vision of Fr Reignier, the Marist Brothers and the Sisters who have all gone before us. It is through events like tomorrow evening, where we are able to keep their vision alive.
Finally, I would like to thank all our Year 6 students and the families who are leaving us at the end of the year. Thank you for everything that you have contributed to the life of our kura. You will be missed but leave us knowing that you will always be part of our Reignier Catholic School whānau. May the next part of your educational journey continue to be filled with success, happiness, and faith.

2023 STAFFING
Listed below is the confirmed staffing for 2023. There will be some classroom movement for next year due to the refurbishment of the senior block that is due to happen later in the year. We have chosen to begin the year in the new rooms to reduce disruption later in the year. Your child will have received a letter from their 2023 teacher last week. Parents of Year 3 and 4 children in 2023, cricket is also played on a Friday afternoon. Registrations are now open for teams for Term 1. Please email Mrs Jackson - rjackson@reignier.school.nz to indicate if you would like your child to play Futsal in Term 1. There are competitions for Year 1 and 2; Year 3 and 4; and Year 5 and 6. Games will be played on Friday afternoons at the PGA.
SWIMMING POOL
The Board is excited to announce that pool will begin to be fixed and start the upgrade process over the month of January in time for the start of the 2023 school year. There has been a lot of work happening behind the scenes to ensure the longevity of this resource for our students and the years to come.
UNIFORM
The Warehouse Napier is now stocking all uniform items including items previously sold at school - Sweatshirt, Sunhat, PE Shirt and PE Shorts. Due to a change in supplier, the sweatshirt is a slightly different blue to what we currently have, however, there will be a phase out period of two years before the expectation is everyone is wearing the new sweatshirt. With that in mind, we currently have a small amount of stock in limited sizes left at school and we will be reducing the price of these items by 30%. The following items will be sold for: Sunhat - $9.10, PE Shirt - $23.10, PE Shorts - $18.90 and Sweatshirt - $35.00
