Help Protect the Programs Your Students Love!
We are requesting your assistance with providing some information that will support us in offering important programs and services. The Household Income Survey gathers the information needed for us to receive funding from the state to support our financial ability to continue to provide meaningful supports and programming for students.
Some of these supports are academic such as math tutoring, reading intervention, and academic enrichment. Other supports include counseling and social emotional help. Activities that positively connect students to school such as clubs and other extracurriculars also receive enhanced support from this funding.
At our school, these supports include:
- Before and After School tutoring
- Counseling Groups for topics such as Motivation, Social Skills and Grief
- Tierra Linda Community Council
- Coding Club
- Makerspace
- Life Lab Garden
- Fitness Lab
- Amanda’s Corner
- Many, many more!!!
Please help us by completing the Household Income Survey being sent home with your child, as it provides the basis for the funding that maintains these important programs.
Thank you in advance for your support of Tierra Linda Elementary School. Please submit the form to you child's teacher no later than October 1, 2021.
Picnics on the Grass - NEXT WEEK Grades K, 2 and 4
This was very successful, and we will continue using this extra space moving forward!
Here is the picnic schedule:
- September 27-October 8: Grades K, 2, 4
- October 18-October 29: Grades 1, 3, 5
- November 2-November 12: Grades K, 2, 4
- November 15-December 3: Grades 1, 3, 5
- December 6-December 17: Grades K, 2, 4
We will obviously make adjustments as necessary, with changing weather conditions in fall and winter.
Please feel free to send a towel (or something for your child to sit on) during the weeks they are eating on the grass.
Counselor's Corner
Hello Hawk families!
This week’s focus is on friendships. As we are wrapping up our first month back at school, it has been so wonderful to see students rekindling old friendships and creating new ones.
Children’s relationships with their peers directly affects their well-being, provides an opportunity to learn and practice social skills, and may establish enduring patterns of relating to others. Encouraging your student(s) to build positive and supportive friendships helps your student to:
• Increase their sense of belonging and purpose
• Boost their happiness and reduce their stress
• Improve their self-confidence and self-worth
• Helps them cope with traumas/difficult situations
• Encourages them to change or avoid poor choices
At home you can model how to be a good friend for your child by showing an interest in their expressed friendships and treating others with respect. Being involved at TLS is another great way to stay involved in your child’s friendships! Talk to your child’s teacher if you are interested in volunteering on campus or for future events.
You can contact Mrs. Martyniuk via EMAIL or request she visit with your child by using THIS FORM.
Tierra Linda Community Council
We are so excited to begin Tierra Linda Community Council next week with our 3rd, 4th and 5th Grade students! This was previously Junior Optimist Club, and our plan is to carry on the mission, vision, and traditions the Optimist Club of Camarillo established in working with us for so many years!
Please see the attached letter with additional information and a form for you to sign your child up, if you choose. Forms are due back to teachers by Tuesday, September 28th.
We know we have many students' family members that were involved in the Optimist Club of Camarillo. I invite you to have them reach out to me if they'd like to support us in continuing to serve our Tierra Linda Community.
Tierra Linda PTA
We also have several events coming up at the end of October and beginning of November listed below. Please be on the lookout for more information.
Spirit wear can be ordered anytime and is delivered to your child on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month. We love seeing our kiddos show their Hawk Pride!
Please check out their website for important parent information as well as directions on how to join!

COVID Reminders
Please remember that if your child is showing any of the signs or symptoms of COVID 19, they should stay home. We also ask that you call in to speak to the office if your child has been exposed so we can walk you through the decision-making process of whether or not they should be at school.
A quick reminder from our PVSD 2021-2022 School Operations Plan
Students/Staff who have symptoms and were directed to care for themselves at home may discontinue isolation under the following conditions:
- At least 24 hours have passed since resolution of fever without use of fever reducing medications; AND

- They have a negative test for SARS-CoV-2, OR a healthcare provider has provided documentation that the symptoms are typical of their underlying chronic condition (e.g., allergies or asthma) OR a healthcare provider has confirmed an alternative named diagnosis (e.g., Streptococcal pharyngitis, Cosxackie virus), OR at least 10 days have passed since symptom onset.
Any student or staff member who is absent from school/work due to illness must check in to the main office before returning to classroom/work station.
The student/staff member must be assessed and approved to return by the appropriate personnel (someone trained on active assessment for COVID-19 symptoms).
Once approved, they may return to their classroom/work station.
