Principal's Corner

ALERT Notice: This morning a parent's vehicle was broken into while it was parked in the school's lot. Witnesses noticed two African American males in their early twenties driving a brown SUV. A police report has been filed. Smash and grabs are happening in this area. Please do not leave any valuables in the vehicle at any time. Hiding purses under the seat is not recommended.


In other school related news...


Reading Challenge Celebration is happening Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014, we will celebrate together the hard work of all of our students. One of our school's goals this year has been to create a reading culture! It is tremendous how well our students have done in just a month! Students may bring their favorite stuffed animal to read with. There will be guest readers in all of the classes. Every student will receive a special gift to celebrate Reading!


Friday, December 19, 2014, is our school's Annual Winter Sing along. The special assembly will include instrumental pieces from Gael Alcock's Winds instruments and from Ms. White's Guitar class. The songs are mixture of traditional, Hanukkah songs, and Kwanza songs. Parents and family are welcome to join us in song, just know the space is limited.


No school December 22 through January 2nd.


The students will come home this week with their Spelling Bee packet. Students should practice over the break. The Spelling Bee Competition will occur on January 29 at 1:00 PM.


The Martin Luther King Oratorical date has been changed to accomodate the 4th Grade overnight trip. Please make a note that the new date is January 26, 2014 at 9:00 AM.


Finally, all Fourth Graders will take the NAEP (National Assessment of Educational Progress) Assessment on January 29 at 8:30 AM. Information regarding this assessment was sent home on December 15, 2014 via student's backpacks.
