International Mystery Hangouts

Both Coach Jeffreys' and Mrs. Chandler's class participated in our first two international mystery google hangouts recently. Both of the international classes were learning English in an after school tutoring environment. Both were great and our students learned a lot.

7th - 9th Graders Learning Coding

In preparation for the "Hour of Code" promotion put on for elementary and high school students by Code.org December 5-9 we have been prepping in the library. All of Mrs. Hall's, Mrs. Mask's, and Mrs. Smith's classes have come to the library the week following Thanksgiving for a mini lesson about coding, what it is, why it is important, and how to get started with some beginning coding. They will return the week of Dec. 5-9 and participate in the Hour of Code via code.org. #hourofcode

Recently both Dr. Smith and Mr. Yerbey went through Google Educator Certification training. This was an intense training that delved deep into all aspects of using Google in education. Dr. Smith has taken and passed the training certification and is now a Google Educator Level 1. Mr. Yerbey is planning to take his test soon and will also been Google certified upon completion. If you have any Google related questions we are the ones to ask.
