A message from the principal
Responsibility is our word for October
This month we are talking about responsibility. One way to define responsibility is “taking action and understanding the impact of our choices.” Taking action can mean doing the right thing or completing the tasks you have been assigned. Understanding the impact of our choices means that our actions matter. Positive and responsible actions can help people, and irresponsible actions can hurt others.
Consider brainstorming a privilege or special treat you'd like to work towards as a family. Write out specific ways everyone can show responsibility around the house daily, weekly, or monthly. Create a small responsibility jar and decorate it together. Each time someone completes a responsibility on the list, place a small item like a coin or a marble in the jar. When the jar is full, celebrate with your special treat!

Slime Direct Drive Updates
The slime direct drive is off to a good start, but we aren't close to our goal yet! As of today, the following classrooms are in the lead to win a class party; KHR, 1HB, 2KH, 3JB, 4KC, & 5TP! The direct drive ends on October 19. Our goal is to have this be the only fundraiser of the year if we can raise enough funds! Thank you in advance for your participation! Based on the amount raised so far, 7 Sunrise staff members have been targeted to get slimed. We want to see this number grow!
Sunrise Pancake Breakfast
It's not too late to join us for our pancake breakfast on October 29th or 30th at Applebee's on Pheasant Ridge Drive! Proceeds benefit the PTO. Tickets are just $8.00.
