Dear APS Families,

I hope you are ready for an exciting night as we present APSK8 Takes Flight, this Thursday, May 19th from 4:30-7:30. There will be Parrots, Birds of Prey, Bats, Drones, Kites, Planes, and so much more.

There will be all kinds of food from BBQ to Sushi, and Tacos to Goop Dogs…. so come hungry! You can even decorate your own donut or cookie amongst all the sweet shops.

Come sit in an airplane pilot's chair and fly a plane or race the drones through an obstacle course. There will be t-shirts, and toys, and games. A must see are the Kitemen from Disney as they perform on the soccer field.

One suggestion since parking will be a challenge is to walk, ride bikes, carpool if possible. We hope to see you all here at Audubon Park for our first night of APSK8 Takes Flight!

This week our middle school students will be taking CFE exams on an alternate schdeule. Please see graphic below in this newletter for this schedule.

Our Music and Band Programs put on fantastic Spring Concerts recently. I hope you were able to catch one of them and hear our talented studnets. Special thanks to Mr. Walters and Mr. Munera for their continued guidance and inspiration.

Have a wonderful week,

Trevor Honohan

Spring Music Concerts 2022

The APSK8 Music Department ROCKS!

The Salvation Army and The Corrine Animal Hospital were so grateful for all of the blankets received by APS families. They filled a huge need for both. Let’s reach out to our community before summer by providing The Harbor House of Central Florida with supplies needed. There are collection bins in each grade level hallway. The grade level who earns the most points for donated items will receive a small thank you treat from Student Government.

Yearbooks will be arriving soon. Stay tuned for exact distribution details.

Distribution is tentatively set for May 24. K-3 5-6 pm, 4-5 6-7 pm, MS 7-8 pm. (May 31 is our backup date depending on shipping speed). Either way, it will be the perfect way to celebrate the sunshine of this year! Plan to bring your favorite beach towel and pen, and meet the yearbook staff on the grassy center of the track.

Students not attend will have books delivered to their classrooms on May 25 (or they will be available from the front office for pickup beginning June 1).

This summer APSK8 has the unique opportunity to have our students keep their skills sharp with a couple different options from This platform is available to all of our students via:

Students can take a diagnostic that will craft a skills plan specific to your student’s needs in reading and math.

This three minute video will you give insight on how to access this feature:

The next option is using IXL’s premade skill plans: Summer Boost Skill plan or IXL Summer Adventures. These skills plans were created to highlight and target skills that your student will be practicing in the next grade level.

Please consider having your APS student continue elevating their skills over summer at their own pace using this outstanding website!
