Eastender Team Update

We S.O.A.R. from the East End!

Getting Gritty

Here's a favorite video of ours concerning the "key to success." We challenge our students every day to work hard and think hard. Here's why:

Field Trip

Our field trip was a major success. The students enjoyed art from all over the world, watched an incredible dome show narrated by Liam Neeson, looked for Greek architecture (doric, ionic, and corinthian columns) around UNC's campus, hugged trees, and feasted together at the Mellow Mushroom. What an awesome day! Click here for some amazing pictures captured by a parent volunteer, Mr. Dixon.

Three Ways to Give this Holiday Season

Here at Phillips we pride ourselves on our commitment to the community. There are three fundraisers happening in the month of December. Please consider contributing to one or more of them. They are listed below:

1) UNC Children's Hospital Toy Drive: The Student Government is collecting toys to donate to kids receiving treatment at the hospital. Mrs. Whittington and Mrs. Tolbert run this committee, and they would love to see the support of the Eastenders! :) Here's a link to the flier: Click Me

2) Gift Card Drive: Please consider purchasing gift cards from Food Lion, Harris Teeter, Walmart or Target in any amount. The gift cards that are donated will be distributed based on need during the week of December 15th. Donations can be mailed to the school or dropped off in the main office for our social worker, Allison Blue.

3) Feed the Need: Our Wild Flowers Girls group is sponsoring a food drive from December 8th-18th. There are drop boxes outside the main office for non-perishable food donations.
