Spring 2022
Our 2022 Region 10 Parent, Family, and Community Engagement Fair was a success!
We'd like to thank all the presenters, vendors, LEA personnel, community members, and most importantly parents that joined us on March 3rd. Their presence and enjoyment made all the work we put into it worth it. A highlight of the day was singing along with our keynote José Luis Orozco.
Read some of the testimonials:
- "Congratulations for such a successful event... The sessions had a positive impact in the way our parents feel about their role in the education of their children..." - Sofia Nuñez Sanchez, Garland ISD
- "It was a great event. I appreciate all that [Region 10] did to put this event together for our families." - Patti Martinez, Rockwall ISD
- "We appreciate[d] the amazing opportunity for the parents and myself to be part of." - Edith Maciel, Melissa ISD

That is the million-dollar question. The best thing the LEA can do is to align their Title III engagement activities with their needs assessment.
Think about these questions:
- What do your Title III families need?
- What community services could supply some of the academic, linguistic, or even social needs your Title III students and parents have?
- What does your data say about the college and career readiness of your ELs?
Perhaps answering with more questions is not ideal, but those questions can truly help LEAs brainstorm ideas to move beyond the compliance mindset into really finding ways to meet the needs of your Title III families.
To answer the original question, how do we meet our Title III requirements? Take a close look at the academic, linguistic, and social needs of our EL families and find creative ways to meet them.
