Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month
May is Asian American and Pacific Islander heritage month! Here is a

Teacher Appreciation Week is May 8-12th!
We wanted to let you all know that next week is Teacher Appreciation Week! We will be celebrating all our teachers and it would be wonderful if you could write a letter, make a card or poster, or create anything you'd like to tell your teachers how much you appreciate them. Our teachers work incredibly hard, and next week is a great opportunity to show some extra love and care. Thank you in advance for helping to make next week special for our teachers!

¡Queríamos que todos supieran que la próxima semana es la Semana de Agradecimiento a los Maestros! Tree Planting with Openlands
Thank you so much to all volunteers who came out this past week to help plant the trees in partnership with the Openlands organization! Our students all had the opportunity to come outside to learn more about careers in arboriculture and the important role that trees fulfill for efficient ecosystems and our well-being. We thank Openlands and Space to Grow for making this event possible.

CIWP Meeting on Tuesday 5/9/23
We will have another community meeting on Tuesday 5/9/23 at 3:30PM regarding our upcoming school improvement plan (CIWP - Continuous Improvement Work Plan) that is in the preliminary stages of being designed for the SY24-SY26 school years. All are welcome to attend to share your feedback on what is working well at our school as well as suggestions you have for how to improve our school. Parent Portal
Parent Portal gives parents the ability to view students' grades in real time. If you are setting up your Parent Portal account for the first time, please visit the First Time Parent Portal Set-Up link. This is a one-time step and not necessary after every school year. Once you receive your email from Aspen to help set up your username and password, you can access Parent Portal at Aspen Parent Portal.
If you already have a Parent Portal account, but are running into technical issues (forgot password, locked out, etc), please email Boone's tech coordinator Patrick Chi (ptchi@cps.edu) so he can reset your account. Once your account is reset, you should receive an email from Aspen with further instructions. Additional information provided by the district can be found at this link.
Portal Para Padres
