The Lion's Roar
January 2024
A Message from the Principal
Lion Families,
We are moving through the school year very quickly. Our campus focus is still student success. We want to be sure that every Lion leaves the Den ready to be successful. To that end, we need your students to take advantage of the multiple opportunities we offer for success. Tutorials are available for every content. As we prepare for our State End of Course Testing, students will be invited to after-school and Saturday EOC Camps. Please prioritize these sessions.
Time is of the essence, especially for our seniors. This is the time of year when seniors can get a little complacent. Please help them to keep their eyes focused on graduation. It will be here very quickly. Seniors who have not met the TSIA or the EOC requirements will begin to receive more intense interventions. Remind your students that their presence is required in each of their classes and that it is their best work that will merit the best grades. I am looking forward to celebrating the end of another successful senior year with all of our graduates! Be sure that you check our home page at www.aliefisd.net/taylor for current information.

La encuesta se administra a través de una empresa externa y se ha traducido al español. Para servir mejor a nuestros padres/familias, habrá computadoras disponibles en las oficinas principales y en los Centros de Familia de cada escuela durante el horario escolar. Attendance - Every Day and Every Class Matters!
A missed school day is a lost opportunity for students to learn. Research shows that students are more likely to succeed in academics when they attend school consistently. Visit the Alief ISD District Attendance Webpage to find out about available resources to help your student succeed in school.
What should I do if my child is absent?
Students who have been absent or tardy must present an excuse from the doctor, parents or guardian when they return to school. Parents or clinics may also fax excuse notes to the attendance office (281-988-3407) or email excuse notes to the ATHS Attendance Office at taylorattendance@aliefisd.net.
Closed Campus
Just a reminder. Alief Taylor is a closed campus. Students may not leave campus during the day for any reason without a parent or guardian signing them out. This includes lunch period.
