UGA Diversity & Inclusion Career Conference
Students and employers gathered on January 30th in the Tate Grand Hall for a night of networking and celebrating diversity in the workplace at the UGA Career Center’s Annual Diversity & Inclusion Career Conference. This year’s event was sponsored by Georgia Pacific and Target. In addition to a networking dinner and dessert reception, attendees enjoyed a motivational welcome from UGA Assistant to the President, Arthur Tripp, an employer panel discussion, and a keynote address from Greg E. Hill, Youth Speaker, Author, Podcaster and Culture Change Agent. The conference theme was Be Unstoppable: Leverage What Makes You Unique.

UGA Division of Development & Alumni Relations - Now Hiring Communications Student Worker!
UGA's Division of Development & Alumni Relations is hiring a communications student worker and development interns.
Communications Student Worker - This position will work closely with the communications coordinators to help develop and implement marketing and PR efforts for various departments within the division. A major responsibility of the communications intern will be to conduct interviews with UGA alumni and donors and write stories for the web. The application deadline is February 28th.

Internship Opportunity - Arch Insurance Group Finance and Credit Risk Management Team
Arch’s Internship Program is a 10-week program that offers students a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the insurance industry. Working alongside with some of the most talented members of the insurance industry, interns will gain relevant expertise in various aspects of the field.
We look to employ interns who are Juniors or Seniors in college, and who have expressed an interest in careers within the insurance industry or related financial services fields. In addition to performing the duties assigned to them by their respective departments, all interns will be required to attend the Speaker Series/lunch and learn sessions. As participants in the program, the interns will be assigned a specific project, culminating with a presentation to Senior Management at the close of their internship.
The open position at the Arch Alpharetta, GA location will be part of the Finance and Credit Risk Management team and will give the student an opportunity to learn about the National Accounts Casualty and Defense Base Act business, while focusing on credit risk and financial management.

2018 Secretary’s Honors Program Cyber Student Volunteer Initiative - U.S. Department of Homeland Security
Through the Secretary’s Honors Program Cyber Student Volunteer Initiative, students are able to learn about the DHS cybersecurity mission by completing hands-on cybersecurity work and building technical experience in key areas such as digital forensics, network diagnostics and incident response.

Please join UGA’s College of Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) and the Terry College of Business as they host panelists from Invesco for an engaging discussion regarding career opportunities in the investment industry.
All students interested in learning more about the investment industry are encouraged to attend. Panelists will discuss their personal career journeys, including how they began in the industry and tools that led them to success. Panelists will also provide a glimpse into Invesco’s culture, showing how their commitment to people and diversity of thought makes this asset management firm a great place to work. A representative from Invesco will be available to discuss the internship program in more detail. Panel discussion is open to all students and dinner will be provided.

Oak Ridge National Laboratory Science Education and Workforce Development Virtual Career Fair
Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) and the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) are excited to share with you a great opportunity to learn more about the variety of internships and research participation programs available at ORNL, the U.S. Department of Energy’s largest science and energy lab.
ORNL and ORISE are co-hosting a virtual career fair February 22 from noon to 3 p.m. EST. Students may register up to the day of the event at http://orau.us/live-ornl.
