Summer Reading Camp
Almost to the END
Thought to Ponder
---Kelly This
I see these qualities in your classrooms and in how you interact with students. Each child we build up--not only stands a little straighter but begins to let down walls for learning to begin.

I wanted you to know so you could plan accordingly for this change.
Go Noodle is a great way to kids moving in the classroom.
This is a link to some brain break videos---some are really good. preview them first of course. You might use the viewpure site to make sure ads to not come up. If you need help--just ask!

- Thank you to Jeanette who shared about a book she is reading--"Uncommon Learning." What a great reminder about students' need for choice and how the students we are working with think and learn so differently from us. Taking this into account when planning has to make a world of difference. Thank you for sharing!
- Repetition--Love that I walk in to different groups in the same grade and hear the same concepts being taught and the same language being used. It takes 100 repetitions for a struggling learner to "get" a concept. Here is a link to an article which is awesome if you are interested. Heather you are so good at this!
- Knowledge of Content: When teachers know their content and standards--what amazing outcomes they can gain from students. Clarity of what you want the student to do helps to craft questioning, scaffolding and explanations. So many of you do this well!
- Natalie love how you always bring students into what they are reading and make connections.
- Shonda you help students see the parts so they can make sense of the whole!
- Word blending--Lydia and Chrissy--just WOW!
- Patience! Thanks for giving more when you feel you have had enough--we have some little ones with some strong emotions to channel! Thank you to all assistants for this! Thank you Deidre, Tina, Leanne, Brooke and Savannah.
- Sharon--thank you for seeing a child who needed something other than academics. Sometimes just moving a seat to make someone feel comfortable can change the direction of a child's day for learning. Thank you for noticing the little things that matter a lot!
Thank you for the kind birthday wishes! You all are wonderful!
Close Out--Work Day!!
I have had a few people tell me they had plans and were not going to work--
So, let me know if you are not planning on working on August 11th. I will need you to work with your team to make sure the list is complete. It should not take long if you want to do it on Thursday afternoon. I will need your Timesheet on the last day you are working.

Time sheets
Teachers
Remember you are being paid for 8 hours unless you leave for an appointment or are absent. Your morning time is 7:30 and end time is 3:30 which is 8 hours. Unless I ask you to work over or come in early for some reason--you need to log 8 hours for the day. If you do need to log longer than 8 hours--come see me.
Assistants/Bus Drivers
Remember to total your time sheet each day. If you are logging more than 8 hours in the day--see me and we will talk about how to flex your time.
Thank you-- if you have questions-- see me!
