Conservancy Kids

We bring the Sonoran Desert to you!

Big picture

Welcome to Conservancy Kids!

We are so excited to have you with us on this virtual journey of inquiry and place-based learning! Right now we may be social distancing, but we're all connected by the awesomeness of science. We're junior scientists, exploring the natural world, asking questions, and making discoveries. Join us for an adventure that will take you outdoors, around the house, and into the incredible Sonoran Desert. Welcome to Conservancy Kids! We're excited to see you!

Fun in the Sun!

Summer is officially here in the Sonoran Desert with high temperatures and plenty of sun. Plants and animals are adapted to the intense summer conditions, but as humans, we need to be careful and be prepared if we are going to continue enjoying the outdoors through this hot weather.
The Desert is Hot!

Stay Safe in the Desert Heat

If you're exploring outside during the summer, make sure you're prepared with plenty of water and know when to head back inside. Enjoy being outside early in the morning or later in the evening to avoid the highest temperatures. Protect yourself from a sunburn by wearing sunscreen, a hat, and protective clothing. Learn more with Luke about how to stay safe and enjoy the desert in the summer. The Conservancy is not a medical entity, so always call 911 in a medical emergency.
