Dear Board District 7 (BD7) community,

It has been exactly one year since I was sworn into the Board of Education to serve as your representative for LAUSD’s BD7 — where I was previously a student, teacher, teacher-educator and advocate. I’m proud of the relationships we’ve built, the collaboration we’ve cultivated, and the courage we’ve mustered in our first year together.

Below are a handful of the collective milestones we’ve achieved with your support, guidance and heart. I’m hopeful about our opportunities for educational equity in the district that raised me, gave me my first post-college job, and supported my leadership journey, and I look forward to continuing to work alongside you to achieve educational justice in our Los Angeles Unified.
