The Viewpoint
Every week you will receive a newsletter from me recapping the week and spreading good news :). There is usually a lot of information in the newsletter so I try to keep it brief, yet informational. You will also see plenty of pictures. Look for your child!
Thank you for sharing your children with us. We are the lucky ones.

Positivity Project
This year Oakview Middle school staff and students will implement The Positivity Project. The Positivity Project helps to empower America’s youth to build strong relationships and to understand, appreciate, and exemplify the character strengths in us all through the motto #otherpeoplematter. There are 24 different character strengths that are taught through The Positivity Project, each of which your child will learn about this year. Please see the attachment below, and visit the website, https://posproject.org/, for more information about The Positivity Project.
All students will receive a Positivit Project (P2) shirt and I will fill you in each week on the character trait that we have discussed throughout the week.
Meet our new police liaison officer
Class meetings
- Be safe
- Be respectful
- Be responsible
We also discussed being kind and giving 100% every day. Each discussion was tailored to each grade level, but those were the key points in each. The students were very good listeners!

Title 1 meeting
We are designated as one of four Title I buildings in Lake Orion Community Schools. This means that we are provided with additional federal funds to help us provide academic supports to our students. On Monday, September 24, 2018 we will be holding an informational meeting from 7:00 – 8:00 PM in the Orion Oaks Media Center to provide additional information about Title I and how this is being implemented in the district and our school. This meeting will be for families of students in all four Title I buildings. Please see the attached flyer with additional information about this evening.
We look forward to seeing you on the 24th.
