STEM4 UPDATE
September-October 2016
In what ways do we enable or discourage movement?
- Math - movement of number values in addition regrouping and subtraction ungrouping; inverse operations; going into multiplication and division strategies
- Reading - stories, poems, and informational text in which people or objects move for different reasons; content area reading skills to learn about our science and social studies; how do you read poetry differently than a story (flow of words)
- Science - where does matter go in the law of conservation of mass; thermal energy transfer; electricity and circuits; how does movement affect our learning
- Social Studies - map skills; transportation history in Ohio; movement of people and goods between regions
Design briefs will be starting soon. We have had to cover some basics in science and social studies before getting into the PBL Fusion.
The capstone is currently scheduled for December 2, from 11:00-12:00, in the PV gym. If we need to change this, we will let you know ASAP.

School-wide Allergy Update
Thank you for your help in keeping our children safe and healthy.
PV Triathlon
Did you know that if everyone in the school raised $20, our school would earn over $17,000 to spend on your learners! If you raise $25, you will get a triathlon t-shirt. If every student in our class brings in at least $5, we will get an ice cream treat!
Please consider supporting our learning by asking neighbors, family members, and friends to donate to our Triathlon on September 28.
