Elliott Rodgers

The countries involved in the war's Axis powers were, Germany, Italy, Japan, Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria. The allies fighting against the Axis powers were, The United States, Britain, France, the USSR, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Greece, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, South Africa, and Yugoslavia. as you can see the allied forces were very great in number. The leaders of the Axis powers were Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini. The leaders of the Allies were Franklin D. Roosevelt, Joseph Stalin, and Winston Churchill. The Allies were the "perpetrators" ridding political positions of the Nazi's.
So, What Is It?
Denazification; A term used to describe the efforts made by the Allies to remove the Nazi party from public office and other influential positions, post World War II. The opposing allies removed positions of influence and broke up the Nazi groups (Fitzgibbon). "Denazification was carried out on the basis of questionnaires about activities during the period of Nazi rule that suspects had to fill out" (Fitzgibbon). An example of one of the questionnaires is shown below.
The Tehran Conference (1943)
Meeting between U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, and Soviet Premier Joseph Stalin, leaders of the Allies.

1949-1953
Allied forces denazify Germany. The allies force the Nazi Party out of politics, culture, and positions of influence, and fight to rid their society of all signs of Nazism.
Where Was This Happening?
In Nazi occupied Germany and a lot of Europe, in 1945 and later, the Allies got rid of all signs of Nazis. This included symbolism, and political influence. Any Nazis were to be stopped before they could spread their ideas.
Why Did This Happen?
In Germany, after World War II, the Allies who were the people against the Nazis, denazified the country to stop the influence of Nazi ideas on it. The opposing forces against the Nazi Party worked to rid and remove all traces of Nazism from Germany ("Denazification"). Because the Nazis were harming other societies and targeting specific cultures to destroy, the allies had to stop them. This conflict is mostly political and economic, as the Nazi Germans blamed, in a sense, other groups, saying that they caused their economic decline. Also, the allies needed to stop them before they became too strong and went after other people.
