Weekly News--October 31-November 4
Daylight Savings Ends—“Fall Back” Sunday morning!
What a great week to be a kid! Halloween on Monday, attendance awards on Tuesday, snow on Wednesday, and an awesome drum assembly on Friday. Hopefully if you asked your child what happened at school this week, you didn't hear, "Nothing". Lots of photos and even a video below of some of our events this week.
Next week it looks like we will have more snow. When the temperature is below 32 degrees, we stay inside for recess. In the morning before school, all students will stay in the cafeteria. Below you will see our snow rules. Please consider sending an extra set of clothes in your child's backpack in case their clothes get wet. Also, we are looking for donations of extra clothes, especially pants sizes 6-10, that we can keep in the office for students.
Our first trimester ended today. Teachers are reaching out about scheduling parent conferences for the week of November 14-18. Our goal is to have 100% parent attendance at conferences. Help us reach our goal by meeting with your child's teacher. We will have early release at 1:35 each day that week to allow for teachers to meet with families.
If you have any questions or concerns, please call the school office or you can reach me by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Enjoy the extra hour of sleep this weekend!

Mrs. Maira Velazquez, 2nd Grade and Title VI Coordinator
Mrs. Velasquez has been teaching second grade this year. She also serves as the Title VI (Indian Education) Coordinator for Susanville School District. She has really enjoyed being in the classroom this year with our students. Her favorite subject to teach is math because there is always an answer! What she likes best about working with our students is seeing them grow and their excitement for learning. She also enjoys their sense of humor and the jokes they like to tell her.
In her free time, Mrs. Velazquez likes to go to concerts. She has already been to seven this year. Her favorite so far has been Bad Bunny.
Mrs. Velazquez's wish for our students is that they can grow up to be whatever they wish.
