Sleep Ain't Cheap!

Educating My Family
I asked my mom, dad, and sister how much sleep they get per night. Their answers were about 6 and 7 hours. Once I found out my family and I weren't meeting the healthy sleep criteria(7-8 hours for adults, 8.25-9.5 hours for teens), I told them the risks of sleep deprivation such as heart disease, strokes, diabetes, obesity, lower test grades/ work performance, etc.
Reminders
I calculated what time my family members would have to go to bed in order to get enough sleep healthy for their age and wake up on time. Then, I wrote a reminder on a poster and hung it on their door.
Did You Know?
Only about 15% of teens get the recommended amount of sleep each night.
Tips
I also put up posters around the house with some tips to getting more sleep in order to educate my family even more on the topic.
Tips:
- Go to bed and wake up at same time everyday
- Avoid naps
- Do calm activity for about an hour before you go to bed
- Exercise daily
- Sleep on comfortable mattress and pillows
