Mission Possibles Run Club
Lace up your sneakers! The 2020 Running Club season is upon us!
Running Club is for students 3-5th grade. Practices will focus on training for a 5K race, developing healthy living habits for life and using perseverance. Practices will begin the week of April 6. Practices will be on Mondays and Thursdays from 3:30-4:30.
The culminating Mission Possibles sponsored race is scheduled for May 16, 2020 in St. Germain.

Registration forms are due by Friday March 27, 2020.
Social Studies & Science
We are still exploring the continent of Asia. We are currently working on a project that includes a lot of steps. We are identifying where 7 different items are made, mapping them, and learning about those countries. Ask your child if they can identify where some items around your house were made and if they ever heard of that country!

Cleanliness means washing often, keeping your body clean, and wearing clean clothes. Cleanliness in your mind is concentrating your thoughts on things that are good for you. You can "clean up your act" by deciding to change when you have done something you aren't proud of or have made a mistake. Staying clean also means keeping your body free of harmful drugs.
Here are some questions to discuss with your child regarding cleanliness:
What does it feel like to be in a messy room?
How does it affect your mind? Your sense of well-being?
How does it feel to be in a clean, orderly room? What effect does this have on your ability to think clearly?
While there are many facets to cleanliness - personal hygiene, environment, etc. - this is a great time to remind kids how to be safe and avoid germs. Unfortunately, there seems to be quite a bit of sickness going on!
Talk to your child about the following:
*Wash your hands, thoroughly and often, with soap and water.
*Avoid touching your eyes, nose, mouth, and face.
*When you cough or sneeze, cover your nose and mouth with a tissue, and then discard the tissue.
*Do not share cups or utensils.
*If you experience flu-like symptoms, stay at home for at least 24 hours after the fever is gone.
*Avoid close contact with people who are sick, and when you are sick, stay at home to prevent others from catching your illness.
*Exercise regularly to help alleviate stress and keep your immune system strong.
*Drink plenty of water, which is essential for proper hydration and also serves to flush out your system and eliminate toxins.
*Get sufficient sleep to allow your body to recharge and fight germs when they attack.
