This test will prompt you to start thinking about your post-University career and help you answer the following questions:

2017 Cross Trust Undergraduate Vacation Awards in the Arts
This Trust was established in 1943 by Sir Alexander Cross with the aim to help deserving young Scots become fulfilled, useful citizens - See The History of The Cross Trust
Applicants must be of Scottish Birth of Parentage.
Purpose of the Awards - to extend vacation support for a programme of work in Libraries, Galleries, Workshops, Master Classes, Centres of Excellence either in this country or Abroad.

ALT - Assistant Language Teacher - Ohtawara City, Japan

OHTAWARA CITY PROGRAMME
A vacancy has arisen for an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) in Ohtawara City, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan.
Several St Andrews graduates have been ALTs in Ohtawara City since the programme was set up 1993 through the New St Andrews Japan Golf Trust (NSAJ), building on a highly successful school exchange programme between Ohtawara and Madras College.
The ALT will be engaged in language instruction. The participant will be placed mainly in state schools run by the Ohtawara Board of Education.
The contract will be for one year commencing on September 1st 2017, and ceasing on August 31, 2018, but may be renewable by mutual agreement.
The participant will be paid 3,360,000 yen per annum.

IT's not just for the boys!
TARGETjobs Events are proud to present IT's not just for the boys!, an event designed exclusively for female students who are looking to find out more about technology careers.
Network with top recruiters, discuss internships and graduate schemes for 2017 and beyond, and take part in skills sessions and team challenges designed to showcase teamwork, problem solving and communication. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions to recent graduates and senior managers on their roles within the companies, and how to follow in their footsteps!
Technology is not all about computers, and whilst a knowledge of programming is beneficial for some technology roles, recruiters are looking to meet students with a passion and drive for IT.
Person requirements- You must be a female studying at a university in the UK or Europe.
- You must be able to demonstrate a real desire to develop a technology career NB: this is not limited to those studying computer science or STEM degrees.
- All years of undergraduate study welcome.
- If you are in penultimate or final year, your CV must demonstrate that you are on track for a 2:1.

McKinsey & Company- WomEngineering - Kitzbuhel, March 16 - 18, 2017

Highly Skilled Workforce Scholarships at University of Edinburgh
A large number of Masters Scholarships are available for the 2017-2018 academic session at The University of Edinburgh.
Scholarships are available to UK nationals who are permanently domiciled in Scotland, as well as EU nationals (excluding UK nationals) domiciled in EU or Scotland but not elsewhere in UK, who have been accepted on an eligible full-time or part-time Masters degree programme.
Award
The scholarships will cover the UK/EU tuition fee and any additional programme costs (APCs). The award of your scholarship will be automatically deducted from your tuition fee.
Expedition Bursaries for St Andrews Students
Due to an extremely generous benefactor we have 10 £800 bursaries available on a first come first served basis. You will also have the opportunity to fundraise an additional £1,000 through Social Action using our Explorer Miles scheme. Explorer Miles is British Exploring’s unique scheme that encourages our explorers to get involved in Social Action and Volunteering projects in their local communities. No previous outdoor experience is required but you must be growth-minded and ready to challenge yourself. Our expeditions are led by professional leaders, who plan adventure, science and media projects that will push you outside of comfort zone.

Jobs & work experience
St Andrews Summer Internships Scheme
A number of varied and interesting internships are available within different units of the University of St Andrews during the 2017 summer vacation.
The St Andrews Summer Internships Scheme has been set up to provide experience of graduate-level work for registered 2nd and 3rd year University of St Andrews undergraduates (or 3rd and 4th years on 5 year degrees). As well as the work experience, each intern will receive feedback on their performance for future development. The main intention is to give good quality, challenging experience which will help students to apply successful later on for graduate positions.
Further information, including remuneration and how to apply, is on the Careers Centre website. The deadline for applications is Monday 20 February 2017.
Change 100 - Paid internships for students with disabilities
Change100 is a charitable venture, run in partnership between Leonard Cheshire Disability and Koreo. Leonard Cheshire Disability is the UK’s leading charity supporting disabled people. Koreo is a talent consultancy dedicated to making a social impact.

Postgraduate study
Saint Andrew's Society of the State of New York Scholarships 2017-18
Up to two scholarships (of not less than $30,000 each) will be awarded for one year of study, normally within a radius of 250 miles from New York City or in the area of Washington DC in 2017-2018.
Applicants must be Scottish by birth or descent and be first degree graduates of either 2016 or 2017 from a Scottish university (or Oxford/Cambridge). An honours degree is not essential.
For further information and an application pack, email careers@st-andrews.ac.uk with the heading ‘Saint Andrew’s Society of the State of New York Scholarships.’ The deadline for applications (including two academic referees) is Monday 20 February 2017.
Applications are encouraged for these scholarships. University of St Andrews’ students have had success in the past but only a small number of applications is ever submitted within the University.
