CPES BOOK FAIR: October 22nd - 26th
The fall book fair will take place the week of October 22-26 from 8-4. Grades 1-4 will come on their usual library day:
- 1st - Tuesday,
- 2nd - Wednesday
- 3rd - Thursday
- 4th - Friday
If you can’t make it to the book fair or the book that your child wants is not available/sold out, you can access our online book fair starting Oct.19 through Oct 29. To find the address of the online fair, go to: http://www.scholastic.com/bookfairs/ -> Find a Fair ->Texas -> Tomball -> Canyon Pointe. The books will be delivered to the school within a day or two of the finish of the book fair.
We will also be taking preorders for the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Meltdown. The cost of this specially priced paperback edition is $8.99 + .73 tax (8 1/4%) = $9.72. The release date is October 30 and the books will be delivered without delivery charge to the school within a few days after release. Just have your child tell us he would like to preorder and we will gather the needed information from him. You will have to pay for the book before the order can be placed. Hard back copies will be available in stores for $13.95 at major stores after that date.
***Please do not forget to add tax to the cost of the purchases when sending the children with money. A tax chart can be found at this link to help you determine the amount to send. https://www.sales-taxes.com/tx/sales-tax-table?rate=8.250000 We have so many upset students when they realize they do not have enough to pay the tax.
Kindergarteners will bring home a cash register receipt (not official) with the total of two books each child would like. You are not required to purchase those books, and please feel free to buy more than two! We have found this is an easy way to help kinder parents who can not attend. If you decide to purchase the books on the list and/or other books, please be sure to return the slip so we can see which books he/she wanted.
Reading Rocks! Trunk or Treat
Join us on Thursday, October 25th from 5:30pm-7:00 pm in the front parking lots for some trick or treat fun! We encourage everyone to dress up as a character from their favorite book. Sign up to decorate a trunk in a storybook theme or another family friendly Halloween theme at
http://tiny.cc/PTOTrunkorTreat or send the form from your child’s Wednesday folder to reserve your space. There are only 50 spots available and a prize will be given for best decorated trunk.
Please send in pre wrapped candy and/or trinkets for prizes to your child’s teacher from 10/15-10/24. Thank you or helping make our evening successful!
