Virtues
Being honest is being open, trustworthy and truthful. When people are honest, they can be relied on not to lie, chat, or steal. Honesty is telling the truth. It is admitting mistakes even when you know someone might be angry or disappointed. Being honest means that you don't pretend to be something you are not. With honesty, you can trust things to be as they appear.
Here are some questions to discuss with your child regarding honesty:
When is it more difficult to be honest?
Name a time you practiced honesty.
How do you feel when someone exaggerates?
Why do we want to impress others by exaggerating?
What would it feel like to always tell the truth and keep our word?
How does honesty help friendship grow strong?
Why is it important to be honest?

Dear Family Member:
This week our class will be discussing the meaning of teamwork. We will talk about how members of a team can work together.
Here are some activities that you can do with your child to help reinforce the skills we’ll be practicing.
Word Workout
- Words to Know: context clues You and your child will work together to make up a crossword puzzle using the vocabulary words.
Comprehension: author’s point of view
You and you child will read about how teamwork helps to make a newspaper. Together you will complete a chart reflecting the author’s opinion of each team member.
Social Studies & Science
During ELA, we will be working on writing our stories to go with our Hmong story cloths. We will also begin exploring imports and exports.
