Although we can do the best we can by social distancing and other health measures, we cannot fully control what we are going through. What we can control is how we make use of this time we have at home. It's easy to slip into fear and be afraid of what's next, but what will that do to help us grow? I encourage you to choose faith and choose hope instead and know that it's going to be okay and we are going to get through this! Ultimately, it is up to you how you respond to this.

We can use this as a moment to step back from the chaos of the everyday world. We can use this time to try new things, work on our mental and physical health, and learn how to be there for others. There are so many resources and communities coming together to provide what people need right now.

There's a lot of research out there that suggests that taking a few minutes every morning to clear your mind and breathe deeply helps to reduce stress. Here are a few apps to check out-all should have free versions!

Next Up: Get Moving (Lifting the Spirits)

This is a great time to explore different types of exercises and work on your physical health. The more you get up and moving, the healthier and more awake you will feel. It can be as simple as going on a walk around the block, YouTubing different routines, or following along on apps/social media.

Peloton is offering a 90 day free trial (no card needed to put down) because of the pandemic. This is a great opportunity and has running (indoor and outdoor), strength, yoga, cycling, meditation, stretching, bootcamp, walking, and cardio.

The Sculpt Society is another app-14 Day Free Trial. She offers sculpt, dance cardio, full body, abs and lots of different workouts.

Many local studios in Birmingham are doing live videos and saving them on their instagram. A few I know of (by instagram name):
