The Week(s) in Review
It's been a few weeks since the last update, but our learners finished the 9-weeks strong!
Before the break, students used Google Earth to find landforms around the world in the Amazing Race! The teams raced from continent to continent in search for deltas, mountains, rivers, lakes, canyons, beaches, and dunes! With every five landforms the team found, they had to answer a vocabulary question at the checkpoint in order to continue the race! It was a lot of fun and we had a few teams in each class who finished the entire race!
Returning from break, we set our sights on solving the world's energy crisis as went through a mini-Project Based Learning unit over alternative energy resources. The students worked really hard in their teams and each had a critical role in their team's success. The team leaders, lead researchers, and tech advisers worked together over the course of five school days to meet the tough demands of the rubric and presentation! On Friday, the teams shared their research and hard work for the class! All the teams did a great job on their presentations!

AquaUpdate
I know everyone loses sleep at night with their concerns over the aquarium in C105. All organisms are alive and well!
The fish stayed at school over the break and took a vacation from small children awkwardly watching them swim all day. The water in the tank continues to cycle through the filter and all inhabitants of the tank seem to be pleased with the living conditions: 77˚F with clear water.
